My Introduction…

My name is Jason Lee Zimmerman. I am a Field Activist for Northern Wsconsin NORML serving Northern Wisconsin and The Fox Valley. I choose to work at supporting NORML and the Organizations Mission simply because Marijuana IS Medicine! I serven in the United States Army from age 19 – 25, and then the National Guard for 2 additional Years. During this period I was deployed to Iraq during the initial stages of our conflict there. Upon returning home I slowly spiraled out of control because of Extreme Post Traumatic Stress Disorder as a Result of my Combat Actions in Iraq. I have been working with the Veterans Affairs since 2006 at adjusting back into civilian life. I have been in different Therapies which have all helped in one way shape or form. However, During these years of working with the Veterans Affairs I have also been on a medication Shuffle of one psychotropic medication to another, all of which came with serious adverse side effects. This is not the V.A’s Fault (Bless Their Souls). After a long while of battling the side effects of my Medication Shuffle I decided to try Marijuana because of it being more Natural and all of the science supporting its efficacy as a Medicine without all of the side effects of the Cornucopia of drugs Prescribed to me through the Veterans Affairs. The effects were immediate , Astounding , and Effective! Right now because of certain personal issues I can’t use this medicine, but I can say (excitedly) that while utilizing Marijuana as a Medication I went from taking 7 different psychotropic prescription drugs down to two and my MMJ! I even stopped using narcotic pain medications prescribed for a back injury, and gave up on drinking Alcohol! These facts have proven to me that Marijuana is one of the most effective and non-side effect drugs on our Earth. Because of this I will forever stand beside my Fellow NORML brothers and sisters and fight this propaganda Battle preventing me from having Access to My Medicine here in Wisconsin and the rest of our Great Country. This is my First post, and I hope that it serves as a reasonable introduction of who I am and why i am simply a NORML kind of Man.
