Why Support Industrial Hemp?

Back in the 80s the Drug War was in full swing. NORML was in bad shape and the marijuana movement was on life support. Then along came a man named Jack Herer who wrote the now famous book “The Emperor Wears No Clothes” which totally revived the pot movement.

As the movement took off the emerging Hempsters were also looking for larger marijuana reform, but knew that the lies about hemp were a good way to start exposing the flaws in the Drug War.

At that time most assumed Industrial Hemp would be the first thing to be legalized because it was so logical and didn’t even contain the drug element. Much to everyone’s surprise medical pot became legal in many states and even recreational pot started to become legal while hemp languished. This led some in the pot movement to wonder why we should continue to push the hemp issue?

Let’s keep in mind that every anti-pot group has been strongly against hemp and suggested the sky would fall if we allowed hemp farming. In the next year or so it’s very likely that hemp farming will be made legal on a national level and likely explode after that. NOW is the time to support Hemp. Simply put, the groups that have bashed hemp will lose credibility and those who support hemp will gain credibility.

So folks, dig out your hemp gear and let your hemp flag fly one more time. If you support hemp NOW you will end up looking like a prophetic genius. If you wait till after hemp is legal you may just look like someone jumping on the bandwagon to garnish attention.
