Receiving a high grade last session by co-sponsoring a varitey of billls and leading the way on Industrial Hemp is Baraboo Rep. Dave Considine. He was critical in drafting our Industrial Hemp bill that was first passed into law. We hope to see his name on adult use/recreational marijuana reform if re-elected. The Democrat ran unopposed as an incumbent in 2018 and ended up co-sponsoring medical marijuana with home grows and smoking products, along with both versions for decriminalization for the 2019-2020 session.

On September 24, 2020, WisconsinEye senior producer Steve Walters interviewed Dave Dahlke (R-Baraboo) who is running for the 81st Assembly District in the upcoming general election.
At the 6:37 mark in the interview Dahlke talks about his friends who use medical marijuana and agrees that their is significant benefit, mentions epilepsy and we get a “medical marijuana should get looked at and should be an option, not the first option and would support further research into that.
And then he says “not a big fan of the recreational” and he talks of his 32 year military experience and talks of unknowns, urine tests and then brings in the old “it is against federal law” but then closes it out by saying that Colorado had tremendous sales tax and he would want to weight the negatives and positives.
General Election is Tuesday November 3rd, 2020.
