In 2020 our parent affiliate, NORML, the National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws celebrates 50 years as the leading organization working to reform cannabis laws in the United States. For NORML’s 50th anniversary, every Friday NORML will be posting a blog from NORML’s Founder Keith Stroup as he reflects back on a lifetime as America’s foremost marijuana smoker and legalization advocate.

Our chapter is also celebrating a milestone this year and we invite you to help us in recognizing this Decade of Excellence by putting the “act” into activism. Step up and increase your activism for the next 30 days as we gear up for the election. We invite you to help celebrate with us for an in person event on Oct 17th and 18th, 2020 at the From the Land Festival on Heritage Hemp Farm in Green Lake. (Facebook Event Link)

Now is the time to influence candidates and elected officials while they are out on the campaign trail. We have archived the views of a majority of our 2020 candidates on our blog which you can view in our “Election Coverage” category. We will be adding information to the Smoke the Vote Project as more candidates have the cannabis conversation because of the work you do and help support.

Northern Wisconsin NORML Certificate of Affiliation

The chapter received their Certificate of Affiliation from the National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws on September 21, 2010.  Since that time, that chapter has grown in membership, held a variety of awareness events and integrated a Field Activist Team approach to their activism.

Thanks to your help, donations and continued support the chapter is able to exist.  As the 2019-2020 Legislation session grows closer to a close, Wisconsin again has active decriminalization measures, two medical cannabis legislation bills and also a recreational marijuana proposal all dead; as no public hearing on any marijuana reform was held in 2019-2020.

We are in need of volunteers in each county of the state to circulate petition/signature support pages and help with local initiatives to insure the 2021-22 legislative session addresses marijuana reform. Please volunteer your time or donate today. We are in constant need of funding and assistance.

Do not hesitate to contact the chapter directly at 920-931-4207 or via email at NorthernWiNORML@gmail.com for more information, to volunteer or to donate anonymously.
