    1. The Assembly Rep from district 68 Jesse James (R – WI), who is a prohibitionist and wants to lead Wisconsin on keeping it illegal. He is also the brain child of the “BHO Bill” to increase penalties for dabs. Republicans jammed through the BHO bill to increase penalties but we got Gov Evers to veto it. Now this guy wants to take a Senate seat…. we say no way. This is odd also, because the Senate seat he is seeking, Republican Kathy Bernier was said her district constituents show support for marijuana reform and if elected, James will say his district does not support it……… how can you tell when a politician is lying? Their lips move.

Some other Republican announced also, Brian Westrate from Eau Claire…. seems like he maybe the GOP state treasurer and helps Kleefisch. He owns an insurance agency.

I bet there will be a few more candidates yet……

The 23rd State Senate District covers portions of Clark and western Wood and Marathon counties in central Wisconsin, as well as Chippewa and portions of Eau Claire, Dunn and northern Trempealeau and Jackson counties.

  1. Roger Roth (R – WI) State Senate District 19 announced he will seek the Lt. Gov office in the 2022 election, leaving this seat open for a wide open primary battle.

The Appleton native was first elected to the State Assembly between in 2006-2008. He has served in the Senate since 2014. Roth was also appointed President of the Senate in 2017 and 2019. He was not re-elected to a leadership position within the Republican Party as LeMahieu defeated him for the position.

Senate District 19, which includes Appleton, Neenah, Menasha and Winneconne is ripe for the picking!

Who will replace Senator Roth? This senate district contains Assembly District 55, Assembly District 56, and Assembly District 57 so I always look for them first. 55 is Republican “RCG” and 56 is Republican Murphy and 57 is Democrat Snodgrass………

  2. Senate 15 Janis Ringhand (D – WI) announced she is not seeking re-election. This Senator was in a leadership position, but never co-sponsored the bill to legalize marijuana in Wisconsin. The supporters around Janesville and Whitewater will be happy to help elect a cannabis friendly politician to this Senate District.
