DOJ Launches New Data Dashboards
Wisconsin Department of Justice (DOJ) Launches New Data Dashboards:
The Wisconsin Department of Justice unveiled a set of dashboards that provide incident-level crime data. These dashboards will provide information on clearances, firearm involvement, drug activity, and victims and offenders.
The dashboards show data collected through the Wisconsin Incident-Based Reporting System (WIBRS). This system provides greater detail compared to the data collected through the Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR) Program. For example, you can look at a specific county’s drug arrests or property crimes, if the county is part of the WIBRS.
WIBRS certified agencies currently cover approximately 70% of the state’s population. The data is provided by law enforcement agencies. It will allow researchers, policymakers and the community to see trends in crime and arrest data in different areas.
