During 2019, the Assembly Republicans prefiled a bill for the 2020 legislative session to create a medical marijuana program in Wisconsin (Assembly Bill 750) which he did not co-sponsor but “may” support. Click link to send a message to support medical marijuana legalization.

March 2020 Republicans circulated a decriminalization bill for co-sponsorship which he did not co-sponsor.

Position on Marijuana Legalization:

Oct 2018Would you support changing state law to legalize marijuana and/or cannabis products? If so, under what conditions? If not, why?

Last session, I supported the legalization of the cannabis derivative CBD oil.  CBD oil is non-addictive, marijuana-based product that provides proven relief to those suffering from chronic pain, seizures and related medical conditions. However, the topic of universal access to marijuana has been met with strong concerns and opposition from those who deal with this issue on a daily basis, namely those in our health care community, law enforcement officers and educators. Until there is a consensus from those on the front line of this issue in Wisconsin, I will not support this initiative.

Holds office State Assembly District 4. District 4 spreads across the west side of Green Bay, northwest to Howard and south and east to include the Villages of Ashwaubenon and Allouez.

Kathy Hinkfuss Candidate for State Assembly in the 4th district in Wisconsin. She says she is running to protect our health, safety, education & voting rights. I asked her about stance on marijuana reform and her reply was:

April 2020: The referendum 2 years ago confirmed the support for medical marijuana. I would support a bill recommending we move forward. I think at minimum this should be a discussion in the WI state Legislature on the fact we have states on 3 sides that have legalized. I am also looking for local voices on the issue, there are many upsides for treatment of medical conditions. So do I have a full fledged documented stance, not yet, I am looking to the community.

When I first announced I was running for the State Assembly in D4 I indicated I wanted to do some research on the vote totals for legalizing medical marijuana.

I have since done that. I support legalizing medical marijuana and small amounts for recreation.

NORML has awarded her a grade of A+ as a candidate for the 2020 Election. You can learn more about Kathy on her Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/pg/KHforAssembly and her website at https://www.hinkfussforassembly.com/meet-kathy.
