Rep. Gary Tauchen (R-Bonduel) Spring Marijuana Survey Results
Earlier this spring we ask for your help and it worked, thank you! After a disappointing October 2018 public statement prior the the election, we still have high hopes for this legislator for a number of reasons. Thirty three (33) states have navigated the “federal government controlled substance excuse” without any problems. Based of the federal memos and federal appropriations, the federal government is not interfering with states medical marijuana programs. Heck, our whole hemp/CBD program is based of a memo by former Republican Attorney General to some degree. I just do not buy that argument anymore, especially with 11 states that have taxed recreational cannabis. I agree with Rep. Tauchen that medicine should not be taxed, but the medical marijuana industry as a whole generates jobs, property improvements and licensing/registration fees that in other states, have funded much needed agenda items locally and at the state level.

As many of his counterparts in the Wisconsin GOP Assembly are asking a marijuana question on their 2019 spring survey, we are unable to find a dedicated website for this representative, let alone the survey.
So we asked constituents that live in and around the following areas to contact Rep. Tauchen (R-Bonduel) at (608) 266-3097. People in Wittenberg, Embarrass, Shawano, Clintonville, Pulaski, Hortonville, New London, Bear Creek and rural parts of Shawano, Waupaca, Outagamie and Brown counties surrounding those cities helped.

Legalization of marijuana for medical and recreational purposes has been proposed. Law enforcement, educators and the medical community oppose legalization. Which best describes your views on marijuana legalization?
[40%] I support medical legalization only
[36%] I do not support any legalization of marijuana use
[23%] I support full decriminalization of marijuana for recreational or medical use
The way I look at things, the majority of people in this district, just like throughout Wisconsin are unhappy with prohibition of marijuana laws and want reform. Like me, when they hear the words medical marijuana they think of people labeled patients/caregivers growing their own marijuana plants and then either smoking or eating their own product they grew. The cannabis industry as a whole is robust and will bring jobs and tax revenue, everyone understands that….but in our world today “supporting medical marijuana” means allowing patients to grow and smoke, anything else needs a different label of support.
Rep. Tauchen (608) 266-3097 is on the Assembly Committee for the medical marijuana bill Assembly Bill 570, in fact, he is Vice Chair. We deserve a public hearing on medical marijuana!
