Marathon County Board to Vote on Placing Medicinal Marijuana Question on November Election Ballot
By Kurt Hase June 28, 2018 Wausau, WI
On June 25th The Health and Human Services of Marathon County Committee a part of the Marathon County Board voted 4 to 1 to move a non-binding medicinal marijuana question for a final vote to the full County Board to take place on July 24th allowing voters across the entire county to weigh in on this issue at the mid-term election this November 6th. First there will be an educational meeting of the full County Board on July 19th which is open to the public for comment, where the vote at the meeting on the 24th of July is not open to public comment. Both of these County Board meetings will take place at the Marathon County Courthouse located at 500 Forest Street Wausau, WI in room B150 at 7 pm.
I ask all those who would like to see the people of Marathon County get the opportunity to weigh in on the issue of medicinal marijuana to please respectfully contact the district members of the Board and show up in person to these meetings. In addition, communicate your thoughts to any and all media outlets and spread the word through all social media platforms to supporters and activists. This is the question that should be on the November 6th election ballot:
“SHOULD THE STATE OF WISCONSIN ALLOW INDIVIDUALS WITH DEBILITATING MEDICAL CONDITIONS TO USE AND SAFELY ACCESS MARIJUANA FOR MEDICAL PURPOSES IF THOSE INDIVIDUALS HAVE A WRITTEN RECOMMENDATION FROM A LICENSED WISCONSIN PHYSICIAN? “
Thanks to all of our supporters now and in the future.
