Saturday’s Wisconsin Public Radio Discussion on Legalizing Marijuana in Wisconsin.
My Thoughts on Saturday’s W.P.R. (Wisconsin Public Radio http://www.wpr.org/ ) Broadcast Discussing the Legalization of Marijuana in Wisconsin.
For anyone reading this who may not already know me. I am Jason Zimmerman, a very proud Northern Wisconsin NORML Field Activist Serving Northern and Central Wisconsin.
Three days ago counting today… Saturday, March 2nd, 2013. I had decided to make my way into the shop here where I am staying and give ‘er my darndest at trying to replace the clutch on my 1987 Ford pick-up truck I just “picked~up” for $500.00. While attempting this task (Which was ultimately a complete fiasco) on the radio which was tuned to:
Wisconsin Public Radio http://www.wpr.org/ was a discussion about if Wisconsin should Legalize Marijuana!
Now the fact that this topic is of such a priority these days, especially since the recent complete Legalization in two states of this great Union of ours, Washington and Colorado, that it is being discussed for two hours on W.P.R. had me Excited to begin with. Butultimately what had me most ‘Fired~UP’ about the radio show was that out of ALL the callers I remember dialing in to voice their opinions and comments, were ALL in direct support ALTOGETHER! Sure thier were One or two sticklers in there. But Generally the calls from the NON-SUPPORTERS were few to none and contained highly irrellevent ideaologies to begin with. Enough so that I cannot even remember what they were.
One caller that called in made a comment that has stuck in my mind since because it was so enlightening to the straight fact that Marijuana is as socially acceptable in our communities if not more-so than alcohol and/or Tobacco. (Both Legal Substances) I wish I remembered the Callers name so I could Quote him on this, but it went something like this… “I don’t see what the big deal is… We ALL Already know of at least ONE PERSON who smokes pot… and we’re not going around calling the police on them because we don’t take it as a threat to the community.” One can easily see the correlation between this comment and how socially acceptable Marijuana is in our society today.
The whole purpose of me writing about the W.P.R. radio broadcast was specifically to highlight that we, us, our team, NORML, are succeeding. Through our unified efforts of Truth and Fact based education instead of Propaganda has reigned supreme amongst the masses! Congratulations, However… The battle has just begun. Although the people, and communities have hear and accepted our message loud and clear. We must still, somehow, have our voice not just heard… But LISTENED TO! That my NORML brothers and sisters… as long as we never quit… and stand united as ONE VOICE and TEAM… Will have absolutely no choice but to begin Happening!
I am Jason Lee Zimmerman, and I support the Legalization of Marijuana in Wisconsin! I wany my VOICE HEARD LOUD AND CLEAR! “Look Up, Not Down!”
