Law Enforcement Against Prohibition Speaker James Gierach is a former Assistant State’s Attorney of Cook County, municipal attorney, Village prosecutor, and general practitioner who consistently addressed drug policy and prison issues. Also note worthy is he was the youngest delegate elected to write Illinois’ Constitution in 1970. That was 40+ years ago and Jim has some great stories to share from those years of experience.
Through his various experiences in the war on drugs, Mr. Gierach has come to believe that our current policy is a failed policy and would like to take the time to discuss alternatives to this issue.
James has spent more than twenty years fighting drug prohibition. He has discussed and debated drug-policy issues on television, radio and in front of hundreds of audiences, appearing alongside the former head of the DEA, presiding judges, chiefs of police, and drug advisers to the White House.
This event FREE and is being organized by Lawrence University Chapter of Students for Sensible Drug Policy (SSDP). If you are interested in booking a Law Enforcement Against Prohibition Speaker, please contact jay.selthofner@leap.cc or visit http://www.jayselthofner.com/l-e-a-p/
