Milwaukee marijuana supporters set second meeting date for January 17th
Milwaukee Area to kick off 2011 with a new NORML chapter
WHAT: Second meeting of like minded folks in the greater Milwaukee area
WHEN: Monday, January 17th 2011 at 6:30pm – 8:30pm (weather permitting)
WHERE: The Brewing Grounds for Change located at 2008 North Farwell Avenue.
WHO: Hemp, Cannabis and Marijuana supporters, NORML members and general public.
The National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws provides activists who support the reform of laws regarding Industrial Hemp, Medical Marijuana and Recreational Cannabis the tools to make a difference in the community the represent. There has been renewed interest in the Milwaukee and greater Milwaukee area in forming a local chapter of NORML which lead to volunteers stepping forward to help organize a exploratory meeting on January 3rd, 2011.
The meeting was held at the Brewing Grounds for Change was a huge success drawing activists statewide, including members of Northern Wisconsin NORML. The great Milwaukee area activists deserve the credit for spear heading as well as organizing the event that even drew the attention of the 2010 Wisconsin Independent Candidate for Jim Langer. It was reported:
An outstanding group of diverse people got together for an insightful and promising 1st meeting in Milwaukee tonight of Southeastern Wisconsin NORML. The first meeting commanded the attention of about 45 attendees, and several others who sent messages of interest, but were unable to attend tonight. Thank you to all who… came out to make it full of ideas, insight and inspiration. The future is yours.
So did we 2011 start off with a bang in the organization category? I certainly hope so. We need to harness the power of Wisconsin, not just Milwaukee to move our legislators FORWARD as our state motto suggests. The Southeastern Wisconsin area is starting to come alive with the buzz of organization and possible a new chapter of NORML to serve the growing grassroots movement. So much so a second meeting has been set up for Monday the 17th at The Brewing Grounds for Change located at 2008 North Farwell Avenue.
