  1. Jacob Gundrum says:

    Hello Everyone,

I would like to start by saying I am a strong supporter of the use of marijuana. I truly believe it is the medicine of the future. I have been through a lengthy tour in Iraq and a motorcycle accident which have lead to alot of pain. I use marijuana to deal with this pain considering the terrible effects of the opiates in which doctors give out so freely. I recently had a falling out with a roommate whom I did not have a contract with to protect myself from any negative possibilities. Things worked for a while and then a female moved in who seemed very nice and normal at first. So, to make a long story short - she started stealing my fiance's prescription adderol and I asked her to move out. I told her that I needed her key and that she should let me know when she wanted to come get her stuff and I have the conversations recorded. Well, the next morning she and her father came walking in the door and past me into my kitchen. I had been smoking while doing some things for work so my stuff and waterpipe were sitting on the kitchen table. I got off of the couch to grab it so her parents would not see it and as I walked into my kitchen I was attacked from behind. Shortly I found that my attacker was an officer of the Oshkosh P.D. and he had entered my house without permission. I was handcuffed and now i am being charged with possession and paraphenelia. I cannot believe that these pending charges are openly listed on WI public records for everyone to see. I am a business professional and I have a bachelor degree from UW-Oshkosh. I am also enrolled in an Executive MBA program in which I will be graduating shortly. I am 27 years old, have served 7 years in the army(4 active and 3 reserve) and I am a contributor to society. I fought in Iraq for 15 months for my fellow Americans and lost many good comrades. I cannot believe that the police can just come right into my house and arrest me when I am minding my own business and smoking marijuana to ease my back pain. I work full-time and go to school full-time and now I am being portrayed as a criminal and these charges can ruin my life. It is truly sad that fellow americans are abusing their authoritative rights and violating the rights of people who contribute and mind their own. There are so many people moving into Oshkosh, WI that are selling Crack Cocaina and Heroin and half the police force was at my house treating me like a criminal. I have an Army Accomodation Medal with a "V" for valor and now in the civilian world I am facing defamation after minding my own business in my own home. This is truly scary. This is a clear example of how the police can come through your front door at will and find something to bust you for. The sadness is almost unbearable when I think about my fellow good, hard-working Americans who are being prosecuted for Marijuana along with thieves, drug dealers and deviants to society. This is the first time I have looked into pro-marijuana groups and I am 100% for this. I am a very good public speaker and I would like my story to be told.

    Sincerely,

    Jake
