The National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws (NORML) ask activists to engage the Senate before the November 17th scheduled hearing and urge the Senate to reject the nomination of Michele Leonhart, Obama’s Drug Warrior Nominee. In a recent blog, NORML's Deputy Director Paul Armentano followed up on the report from the National Journal.
The National Journal reports that the United States Senate Judiciary will decide next week on the nomination of Michele Leonhart to head the Drug Enforcement Administration. NORML, along with numerous other groups, have opposedthis nomination — and we continue to urge the Senate to reject Ms. Leonhart for this high ranking federal position.
The blog contains important excerpts from The National Journal article and closes out with a call for additional action from the field force.
Ms. Leonhart’s actions and ambitions are incompatible with common sense marijuana law reform and the stated policies of this administration. Please urge the Senate to reject this nomination. For your convenience, a pre-written letter will be e-mailed to your member of the U.S. Senate when you click here. You can also call your U.S. Senate office here.
Northern Wisconsin NORML asks that you please take action in a timely manner and share this information. We ask you to be the change you want to see in the world. If not you, who? If not now, when? Join your local chapter of NORML and become active today. Thank you.
